It all started with a click. I ordered it late at night. I wasn’t even sure why. Maybe the old vacuum finally gave up. Maybe I was just done dragging a hose around the pool like a sad firefighter.
Meet Kevin
The new vacuum arrived in a plain brown box. I opened it slowly. It was sleek, shiny, and smelled like fresh plastic and new beginnings. I named it Kevin.
Kevin didn’t judge me. He didn’t complain. Most importantly, he just wanted to clean.
Once I connected the hose, I lowered him into the pool and held my breath. Kevin sank below the surface like a submarine on a mission. At first, he moved cautiously, testing the waters. Then he found his rhythm.
A Vacuum with Purpose
Kevin had purpose. He scaled the walls. He dove into corners. He slurped up leaves with a noise that said, “I was made for this.”
While he worked, I sat on the edge with a coffee in hand, watching like a proud parent at a little league game.
As he vacuumed, I started thinking about life.
Pool cleaning used to feel like punishment. It was a chore—like arguing with algae. However, Kevin changed that. He made it look graceful. Like dance. Like jazz.
Saturdays, Saved
Before Kevin, Saturdays were for avoiding pool work. Now, I looked forward to them. The sound of the hose humming became oddly soothing. Watching little clouds of dirt vanish was more satisfying than it should’ve been.
Eventually, my neighbor asked what I was using. I smiled and said, “His name is Kevin.” He stared. I didn’t care.
The Lesson
If your vacuum doesn’t inspire you, maybe it’s time for a new one. You don’t need fancy features or Wi-Fi. You need consistency. You need suction. You need a little hope with wheels.
Kevin gave me that. And I’ll never go back.
Kevin isn’t alone. We’ve reviewed a bunch of vacuums that might just change your Saturdays too. See our pool equipment guides here.
